Created from my own observations of wildlife, gardens and changing landscapes, the collection celebrates the small details that often become our favourite memories. Birds building nests, blossoms unfurling, woodland creatures preparing for cooler days and gentle snowfall all became inspiration for illustrations that capture the rhythm of the natural world.
Together, the four collections celebrate the simple joy of watching nature change, reminding us that every season has its own beauty, its own story and its own place in the journey.
Finding the Seasons
The inspiration for Seasons of Change came from one simple idea: every season has its own quiet beauty.
Rather than focusing on dramatic landscapes, I was drawn to the smaller moments that often define each time of year. Snow drifting through the air, blossom-covered branches, birds building nests, woodland creatures preparing for winter and long summer afternoons filled with birdsong.
Mood boards helped capture the colours, textures and atmosphere of each season before a single illustration was created, ensuring every mini collection had its own personality while still belonging to one larger story.
Sketching the Seasons
Each illustration began as a simple sketch in Procreate before being refined into clean vector artwork.
Working digitally allowed me to explore composition, movement and personality while staying true to the natural forms that inspired each piece. Birds, flowers and woodland animals were carefully developed one illustration at a time before finding their place within the final collections.
Watching the artwork evolve from rough sketches into polished illustrations is always one of my favourite parts of the creative process.
Four Seasons. One Story.
Although each mini collection represents a different season, they were designed to work together as one complete journey through the year.
Consistent illustration styles, balanced colour palettes and coordinating patterns create continuity across Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter while allowing each season to express its own mood.
Together they celebrate nature's ever-changing rhythm, reminding us that every season has something beautiful to offer.
Every collection begins with observation. A photograph, a quiet moment, a walk through nature. Those small moments become sketches, the sketches become patterns, and eventually they become stories that can be shared.
